ROBBERY AT BOC BATTARAMULLA

The robbers who had come to rob cash from Bank of Ceylon, Battaramulla branch had got it all wrong:
Amidst hand bombs and gun fire one robber had succumbed to death:
Today in the wee hours of the morning, at 2.30 a.m to be precise a gang of robbers have attempted to rob the bank located and housed in the ‘Sethsiripaya’ building.
One person who was passing this place in a vehicle had suspected that a gang of robbers had been in the process of breaking the bank and robbing the cash. Very intelligently this person had called the emergency Police on telephone No 119 who had come to the spot immediately fully armed.
The Police personnel and the robbers had clashed confronting each other. The robbers had initially hurled a hand bomb at the Police personnel without any avail. The Police had retaliated and had opened fire. One of the robbers had succumbed to death with gun shot injuries.
The others had fled away. However the Police had been able to arrest one other robber. It is not certain whether the robbers were successful in their attempt to rob cash from the safes of the bank.
It is reported from well informed sources that the Bank officials together with the Police personnel have commenced investigations early morning.

WATHUPITIWALA ROBBERY (Video)

The entire robbery had been recorded in the supermarket video:

The day before yesterday four robbers who had come in two motor cycles with the helmets in tact and having pistols in their possession had robbed all cash from the Super market coffers and robbed all valuable items in the super market.
They had kept the staff at gun point with their pistols and had even robbed the clients of their cash and valuables also by pointing the pistols at their necks
They had been wearing helmets and had fled with all what they robbed on two motor cycles. A close associate of the owner had followed the two motor cyclist robbers and at one point had collided with one motor cycle. However the robbers had fled away by getting into another motor cycle found in the vicinity and fled away.
When the video tape was displayed the faces of the robbers could not be identified as they were all wearing helmets.
